Anyway he often asks me if I can come help him boost up some characters with him, or go rune hunt. I have got bored with DII alot of times but it's still adictive when you can play with friends and realtives. So I'm wrapped up in DII LoD untill something like GUILDWARS can come and save me.
Thank god it's going to be no monthly fee.

I play with my older daughter often, and if nothing more, it's great to be able to join your children in something they too enjoy. (Here comes the nostalga) I grew up with black and white TV and an AM transistor radio. Our children (some of us) not only have digital media to enjoy for their video and music, they have satellite radio, digtal cameras and computers, something that even the best sci fi writers of my generation completely missed (they loved to predict weapons though). In two generations, the world has advanced further (scientifically and electronically) than it has in centuries. I won't be here to enjoy my children's grandchildren, but what the future holds for them will probably be mind numbing.

I had a level 99 Barbarian, with a +2 skill Arkain's, Doombringer, Cruel Colossus, stuff like that. I let it all expire. I tried to get back into it again but after GW the grind was just too much. To me GW is like a Diablo 3, fixing all the stuff that sucked in D2. No more Meph runs for loot over and over, no more endless exp grind, no more PKers, no more item grabbing, no more corpse runs, imbalanced classes, etc etc...

When you play with long-term trusted friends, PK'ers and grabbers are no concern. When one team member is loaded with MF, there is no need for Meph runs either (after 5 years, there aren't many surprises left to find either). And when you get into trouble, they are there to help. I can count on one hand the number of times I died last year, and thats after playing thousands of games.
GW isn't D2, it's a unique universe that is simply the next level for those who enjoyed Blizzard games or Everquest (which will be hurt the most by GW).

Yeah, there's really no point in playing d2 anymore cause it's not about skill anymore it's just about who can hack the best. Thank goodness for GW!

It has nothing to do with 'hacking'. If that is all you've learned from D2, you will not enjoy GW long. Contrary to popular belief, there are many of us who neither hack nor cheat nor dupe in D2. It has everything to do maturity, which unfortunately, is generally lacking within the Blizzard gaming community now, and the control Blizzard chose NOT to exercise over their games.

Sorry for the misinterpretation
You've got me all wrong. I never hacked in D2. I was just expressing my displeasure with the multitude of people who do. I am going to remain confident that due to all of the advancements made between D2 and Guild Wars the hacking crisis will never even formulate and we will all be able to enjoy a clean gaming experience. When i said "thank goodness for GW" I was expressing my relief that there's a fresh game out there to play that hasn't been and hopefully never will be corrupted.

Re:
I'm still playing D2, but once Guild Wars comes out in full, I'm e-baying everything I own. I have at least $200 worth of items to sell.
Silly children...they acctually buy this stuff!
Not to mention the fact that the game has become so tedius that there's no point in playing it anymore. Wow, all of my characters are perfect, now I join a dueling game, people whine b*tch and complain when they die, then try threatening your life over the net. It's sad, because the game was so unbalanced...well, it was, but only if you had the exact same things as the person you were fighting, but that's no fun...I love being different.
